Greetings and salutations from the Koevoet Veterans League – Natal Region.
All is quiet on the Eastern Front with the heat and humidity playing a major role down on the Coast.
Natal started the year on a positive note with a Golf and Braai Day held at the Bluff Country Club and Conservancy on the 10th of January 2025. This was our celebration of the Koevoet Founders Day on the 11th. Chris Ronne organised the Golf and Willem and Toesie Botha the Braai and prize giving. The Botha family very generously designed and donated trophies for the golf. The inaugural Founders Day Floating Trophy was won by Chris Ronne. This event was well supported by about 25 members and friends and fortunately the weather was kind to us.
Willem Botha gave an interesting talk on the early years of Koevoet and the subsequent development of the Unit. This event was thoroughly enjoyed by all as can be seen from the supporting photographs.
On the 5th of February we had a committee meeting at Mills Bomb Shellhole. During this meeting we were given feedback of the National KVL AGM by Wessie, which will enable us to coordinate our regional management and activities.
