There were therefore thirty combat teams in all. The Koevoet reconnaissance team also had a shoulder flash with a cheetah upon it, with one of the flashes having Etotongwe

(Ovambo for cheetah) written upon the shoulder flash. The call signs and Koevoet names of the eight combat teams of the Kavango stationed at Rundu Zulu – 4 were as follows:

1. Zulu 4 Delta – Thunder and Lightning – Ruvadi (Z4D)
2. Zulu 4 Echo – Leopard – Ongua (Z4E)
3. Zulu 4 Foxtrot – (Casspir) (Z4F)
4. Zulu 4 Hotel – Cape hunting dog or wild dog – Mbindi (Z4H)
5. Zulu 4 Juliet – Lion – Nyime (Z4J)
6. Zulu 4 Kilo – (base team at Rundu, wore their own flash)
7. Zulu 4 November – Cobra – Sizava
8. Zulu 4 Sierra – Scorpion – Nge
9. Zulu 4 Whiskey – Fish Eagle – Ngonga
