CAP BADGES

The original cap badges were SA Police camouflage badges sown onto the headgear. Some of the Owambo trackers managed to obtain metal SAP badges and wore them on berets. Some members did not bother getting the cap badge sown onto the cap, and wore it without any insignia on it. Members of the SWA Police originally were not issued with any cloth cap badges, and nobody wore any. By late 1985 cloth SWAPOL badges were worn on head gear of the green uniform. Originally the silver metal SWAPOL badge was worn on the Green Beret, and this was later replaced with a round cloth badge.
