ONGWEDIVA

By this time the alphabet had run out, so it was decided to give the six combat teams, stationed at Ongwediva (Zulu 1) in Ovamboland different call signs. A base for stores was opened at Ongwediva because the facilities at Oshakati were full.

The six combat teams were:

1. Zulu 1 Delta – (Z1D)
2. Zulu 1 Hotel – Fish Eagle – (Z1H)
3. Zulu 1 India – Warthog – Onguluwe
4. Zulu 1 Juliet – Caracal
5. Zulu 1 Mike
6. Zulu 1 Sierra
